BALDWIN PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- A suspect who allegedly stole a box truck was taken into custody after leading police on a wild chase overnight.
Whittier police started the chase after they tried to pull over the driver for reckless driving. That's when they found out the truck had been reported stolen.
The California Highway Patrol took over the chase around 1:15 a.m. Monday.
The agency says the driver traveled the wrong way across multiple freeways and blew past red lights.
It all came to a crashing halt after a PIT maneuver forced the truck off the road at Frazier Street and Parkwood Place in Baldwin Park.
