Brush fire breaks out near Piru in Ventura County, close to LA County line

PIRU, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire erupted Thursday afternoon near Piru in Ventura County but was quickly stopped, authorities said.

Fire departments from Ventura and Los Angeles counties have responded to the blaze, known as the Grande Fire.

Evacuation warnings were in effect for areas east of Lake Piru to the Los Angeles County line.
