Car crashes into fire hydrant, sending large geyser of water onto Koreatown street

KOREATOWN, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A car crashed into a fire hydrant in Koreatown, sending up a large geyser of water onto the street early Friday morning.

The incident was reported around 4:40 a.m. at the corner of 8th Street and Mariposa Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

AIR7 was over the scene where a power pole was also damaged in the crash. Crews eventually turned off the power before moving in to stop the gushing water.
