Assault suspect dodges cars on 91 Freeway in Corona during attempt to flee from police

CORONA, Calif. (KABC) -- Aerial video released Thursday by the Corona Police Department shows an assault suspect dodging vehicles on the busy 91 Freeway while running from officers.

The footage shows the man running in between two moving semitrucks on Sept. 11, evading several other cars while crossing multiple lanes, then climbing over the center median.

The incident began when offers were dispatched to a report of an assault and the suspect ran away from them, according to the Police Department.

A drone operated by the agency helped locate the suspect as he crossed the freeway and then made his way into a residential neighborhood, running across rooftops before officers caught up with him in a yard.

Body camera video shows him in custody after officers deployed a Taser. His name and details of the alleged assault were not released.
