DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect who was being chased by police hit an innocent driver, triggering a rollover crash in downtown Los Angeles Friday morning.

Officers began chasing the stolen white Chevrolet truck around 7:24 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

They called off the pursuit. However, a few minutes later, police tracked the vehicle from the air as it slammed into a Kia SUV at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Trinity Street, causing the other driver's car to roll over into an empty lot.

Video shows a woman crawling out of the overturned SUV before she was taken to the hospital. She was conscious and speaking to officers.

Meanwhile, the suspect was placed in a police vehicle before being taken to the hospital with minor injuries. He has not been identified.

Shelby Hazelett, the owner of the stolen truck, showed up at the crash scene to assess the damage. He told Eyewitness News this is devastating to his livelihood.

"I don't know how I'm going to get to work, I don't know how I'm going to do my job... This really has put me in a super horrible spot," he said.
