Fuerza Regida's foundation launches with food aid initiative

ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- The Fuerza Music Foundation, created by San Bernardino-based regional Mexican music group Fuerza Regida, kicked off Wednesday with a free community event to support local families affected by the recent suspension of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as SNAP.

The event, held in collaboration with El Super Markets and Street Mob Records, provided hot meals to residents of San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties with EBT cards.

In addition, the first few hundred EBT cardholders received a gift card.

This event marks the official launch of the foundation and takes place ahead of Fuerza Regida's concert on Amazon Music Live, reflecting its commitment to supporting the community at a time when food assistance is critical.

"Fuerza Music Foundation officially launches today, but the work began years ago, in our neighborhoods, with our families and alongside our community. Together, we will continue to be present, building and supporting our community, today and always," the group said in an Instagram post.

The free food event took place Wednesday at El Super supermarket, located at 1000 N. Mountain Avenue in Ontario.
