CHINO HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- If the dog days of summer have you looking for something light and refreshing, head to Lettuce Toss It in Chino Hills.
"We have people who eat here every day," owner Tammie Jones said.
Located in the Country Club Marketplace Shopping Center, it's the perfect place to pick up or sit down.
Customers enjoy big specialty salads, like the bestselling Chopstick Dynasty, a Chinese chicken salad with mandarin oranges and almonds, or the Berry Madness, with fresh fruit and feta.
Some test the heat of the Sizzling Stripper, a customer favorite featuring your choice of protein, topped with black beans, bell pepper, avocado, jalapeño and roasted corn, served with pita bread on the side.
There is no shortage of hearty wraps, hefty baked potatoes and baked goods here.
Jones and her daughters created this concept in their Chino Hills community 12 years ago.
"Without the community, we wouldn't be a success today," Jones explained.
She said the community supports them, and they give back, like with their Wednesday "Kids Eat Free" special from 4 to 8 p.m. with the purchase of an adult entree.
"We have a lot of kids that we've served kids meals to, that we now serve salads to, that are driving in the driveway to order their salad," Jones said.
Lettuce Toss It is open Monday through Saturday, and is located at 5934 Los Serranos Country Club Dr, in Chino Hills.
