Police arrest man suspected of knocking woman unconscious at Rose Bowl

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- Pasadena police arrested a man seen in a viral video assaulting a number of people during the sold-out Rüfüs Du Sol concert at the Rose Bowl last Saturday night.

One woman who was punched in the face was knocked unconscious. Two others were also viciously punched by the outraged man, which was all captured on video.

Pasadena police said they arrested 23-year-old Julio Cesar Lopez Zavala on Thursday in Hawthorne. They said video footage and various tips from the public allowed detectives to identify the suspect.

The incident unfolded on Aug. 16 at around 8:30 p.m. when a drink was accidentally spilled and splashed on the suspect. In a Facebook post, the woman who was knocked unconscious said she and her boyfriend apologized, but the man stormed off.

He returned about 30 minutes later and that's when the fight broke out, according to Pasadena police.

Formal charges are pending a review by the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.
