Tanner Brownlee wanted to own a part of his father's legacy, and after nearly five years since losing him, Tanner had a chance to buy his dad's squad car at auction.
"It'd mean a lot to me and my brother. We've been through a lot," Tanner told ABC affiliate KMGH. He started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the car, but was outbid.
Farmer Steve Wells outbid Tanner for $60,000, even though the car's Kelley Blue Book value was only $12,500. After being given the keys, Wells handed them to Tanner.
"I didn't know," Tanner told KMGH. "It means so much to me." Wells and Tanner had never previously met.
