SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two homes in the San Fernando Valley were broken into overnight, leaving residents panicked, and police are investigating whether the two incidents are related.
A group of four suspects broke into a Woodland Hills home through a back door around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Two residents were held at gunpoint but were not injured.
Reports that the suspects also used knives to hold up the residents were not confirmed by police.
The suspects managed to get away with an unknown amount of cash and jewelry. Police said they were able to obtain surveillance video.
Hours earlier, around 8:20 p.m., police responded to a break-in at a home in Sherman Oaks. Nobody was home at the time.
The suspects entered through a sliding door, but it's unclear how many were involved. It's also unknown what was taken, but officers were taking inventory of what was missing from the home.
The LAPD is now trying to determine if the two crimes are connected.
