Ric Romero, George Pennacchio take Christmas shopping challenge for good cause

GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- With Christmas just around the corner, Ric Romero and George Pennacchio faced off Wednesday in a last-minute shopping challenge to buy the best gifts for two families in need.

The two had $450 to spend on each family at Glendale Galleria. Both families have a child who is a patient at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Here are some tips they followed during their holiday shopping spree:

• Price match when possible


• Use credit cards instead of debit cards


• Look for coupons and use coupon apps


• Always look for a sale
