Two 14-year-old boys who were struck by an 88-year-old driver while riding an e-scooter and an e-motorcycle in Riverside have died, police say.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- Two 14-year-old boys who were critically injured after being struck by a driver while riding an e-scooter and an e-motorcycle in Riverside have died, according to police.

Riverside police said both teens died last week after suffering major injuries in the collision.

The crash occurred Aug. 25 at about 7:46 p.m. at the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Mitchell Avenue.

Police said the boys were riding an e-scooter and an e-motorcycle when they were struck by an 88-year-old driver near Rosemary Kennedy Elementary School.

According to investigators, the teens were attempting to cross the intersection when they were hit by a Lexus.

The 88-year-old driver of the Lexus stayed at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. No arrests have been made.
