
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A man in a wheelchair was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in San Bernardino Thursday night. His body was found by a passerby.
San Bernardino police responded to a call reporting an elderly male was lying on the side of Cajon Boulevard, just north of Western Avenue, around 9:20 p.m.
Responding officers found the man, who had been deceased for a short period of time, lying nearby a damaged wheelchair. Cajon Boulevard was temporarily closed during the investigation.
The hit-and-run suspect's vehicle was described as a light-colored work utility truck with a roof rack.
The victim was identified as William Earl Swisher III, 62, possibly from Victorville.
