Silverado Fire: Firefighters reach 100 percent containment

SILVERADO, Calif. (KABC) -- Crews reached 100 percent containment Saturday in the Silverado Fire that erupted in Orange County's Cleveland National Forest, fire officials said.

The blaze burned about 968 acres. Crews were expected to monitor the burn area for several days.

The fire began accidentally in a backyard on the 30500 block of Silverado Canyon Road on Sept. 12, Orange County fire officials said. The fire prompted mandatory evacuations for about 200 residents and caused power outages in the area.
