
IRWINDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- Firefighters battled a 48-acre brush fire near the southbound 605 Freeway in Irwindale on Sunday.
The Arrow Fire broke out just after 3:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Buena Vista Street.
Ground crews and at least one firefighting helicopter were called to the scene.
AIR7 video from above the scene around 5 p.m. showed smoke billowing over the freeway as firefighters worked on the ground.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, forward progress was stopped after the fire reached 48 acres.
At one point, California Highway Patrol closed a few lanes of the freeway.
No structures were threatened, and no evacuations were ordered.
