Tesla driver caught on video sleeping behind the wheel on the 10 Fwy in Colton

COLTON, Calif. (KABC) -- New video from the 10 Freeway in Colton appears to show a Tesla driver asleep at the wheel.

The video was taken around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. It shows a woman apparently taking an afternoon nap in the driver's seat of her self-driving Tesla.

The witness who took the video told Eyewitness News they immediately called police.

California Highway Patrol sent officers to the area, but they were unable to track down the tired driver.

Regardless of whether or not a car is autonomous, it is still against the law for a driver to sleep behind the wheel in California.
