The Wall Las Memorias marks 20th anniversary with World AIDS Day celebration

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KABC) -- The Wall Las Memorias is honored to announce the 20th anniversary celebration of The Wall Las Memorias AIDS Monument Noche de las Memorias taking place December 1.

This special event will mark two decades of remembrance, reflection, and community in honor of World AIDS Day.

The celebration will spotlight acclaimed singer David Archuleta, renowned for his powerful voice and inspiring journey.

Hosted by ABC7 general assignment reporter Anabel Munoz, the event kicks off with the Salud a las Grandes Memorias Festival, starting at 2:30 p.m.

The festival will feature health screenings, art therapy booths, and live music from DJ LezLee and the Susie Hanson Latin Band.

The evening program, Noche de Las Memorias, will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will include memorial tributes, music, and videos, and will end with a candlelight vigil symbolizing hope, followed by a spectacular fireworks display commemorating the 20th anniversary of the monument.

The Wall Las Memorias AIDS Monument, located in Lincoln Park, stands as the nation's first publicly funded AIDS memorial with over 1,600 names of individuals lost to AIDS complications etched into its granite panels.
