Violent random attack caught on video in Simi Valley Target

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A man is in custody following a violent and random attack inside a Target store in Simi Valley that was caught on video.

The incident unfolded around 6 p.m. Wednesday at the store on Tierra Rejada Road, according to the Simi Valley Police Department. Officers responded after a caller reported that a man had entered the store and immediately began choking a woman at a checkout counter.

Several bystanders, including a juvenile, jumped in to help the woman. That's when police say the man began attacking them.

The alleged attacker, identified as 34-year-old Rejean Tabor, was taken into custody without further incident.

The woman who was initially attacked was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Police say she did not know the suspect.

Tabor is now facing multiple charges, including attempted murder and assault.
