WeHo woman posts warning to lax dog walkers

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A West Hollywood woman has had enough of dog owners refusing to clean up after their pets have done their business on her lawn. She has a unique solution to the problem.

"To the person who lets their dog poop on our lawn and doesn't clean it up: First of all, it's beyond rude."

It's not that Annie Preece has anything against dogs. She's a dog owner herself. In fact, her West Hollywood neighborhood is filled with pets, but that's part of the problem.

"There's a lot of dog owners and nobody's cleaning up their dog poo, so I got fed up," said Preece.

Preece says she was trying to be funny when she posted a sign appealing to dog owners to pick up after their pets.

She ends it with a promise about what will happen the next time someone lets their dog use her lawn as a toilet.

"I basically said that if I catch somebody else pooping on our lawn and not picking it up, I would follow them to their house and poop on their car and on their front porch," said Preece. "I don't know -- there's always a chance."

"She was comical about it, but she put it up for a reason," said neighbor Jeannine Self. "And I think she got her point across."

Preece, a known street artist and mural painter, says her sign has gotten a lot of reaction on social media.

"So I wrote this note and nobody's pooped on our lawn since," she said.
