Woman found dead on side of mountain in Crestline identified as Newport Beach resident

CRESTLINE, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman who was found dead on the side of a mountain in Crestline last month has been identified as a resident of Newport Beach.

Aryan Papoli, 58, was found about 75 feet down a steep embankment near Highway 138 and Crestline Road on Nov. 18, but authorities needed help identifying her.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, she was positively identified on Saturday. Papoli had been reported missing in Newport Beach.

Investigators said her injuries appeared to be consistent with a fall, but the investigation into her death is ongoing.
