YORBA LINDA, Calif. (KABC) -- Students at Yorba Linda High School were forced to shelter in place Wednesday morning as deputies investigated a threat made to the school, authorities said.
According to a spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff's Department, administrators at the school received a phone call that contained a threat.
A teacher who spoke with Eyewitness News said the call came in around 9 a.m. and the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District described it as "an inappropriate message."
Out of an abundance of caution, the sheriff's department conducted a sweep of the campus. It's unclear if anything was found.
The school's principal sent a message to parents and guardians Wednesday morning saying the school was safe.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m., a message was heard through the school's public address system saying that the shelter-in-place order had been lifted.
No injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
