Missing Sequoia National Park hiker found dead
Officials with the National Park Service said 41-year-old Vince Scalise of Phoenix was supposed to return from a hike at Middle Fork Trailhead last Wednesday but never did.

FRESNO, Calif. -- Search and rescue crews located the body of a hiker from Arizona Monday after he went missing last week at Sequoia National Park.

Officials with the National Park Service said 41-year-old Vince Scalise, of Phoenix, was supposed to return from a hike at Middle Fork Trailhead last Wednesday, but never did. A search for Scalise was issued and crews worked over the weekend, but they were hampered by bad weather.

Scalise's body was found at the junction of Panther Creek and the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River.
