Magic Johnson Park: Los Angeles County approves $70M to upgrade park in South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles County leaders have approved $70 million in upgrades to Magic Johnson Park in South L.A.

The work is expected to begin next month. The new amenities include a state-of-the-art events center and upgraded walking paths and play areas.

The master plan calls for several features to be built over the next two decades.

This first phase will be completed in 2020.
