PHOTOS: 8-year-old with cerebral palsy completes triathlon

Thursday, July 30, 2015
Part of the Castle Howard Triathlon that Bailey Matthews competed in was a 100-meter lake swim.
Bailey, 8, also completed a 4,000-meter bike ride.
Bailey had help throughout the triathlon because he has cerebral palsy, which impairs motor functions.
That didn't stop Bailey, though, from completing any of the legs, including the 1,300-meter run at the end. Hundreds of onlookers cheered him on.
In an emotional final stretch, Bailey let go of his walker to run across the finish line himself.
Bailey received a medal and celebrated the accomplishment with his parents.
