ZION NATIONAL PARK, Utah (KABC) -- An off-duty Ventura County sheriff's sergeant died when a series of flash floods hit Utah Monday, according to the sheriff's department.

Sgt. Steve Arthur and his wife, Linda, were hiking in Zion National Park when the flooding occurred. Arthur was identified as one of the victims Wednesday, and his wife is still missing, sheriff's officials said.

Arthur was a 21-year veteran of the Ventura County Sheriff's Office and was assigned to the Camarillo Police Department as the traffic supervisor. He is survived by his three adult children and seven grandchildren.
