

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California is gearing up for another hot week, with even more high pressure building over the region.
While temperatures might already feel hot, even more heat is on the way as high pressure builds in Southern California on Monday and Tuesday.
An Extreme Heat Watch for much of the region begins Tuesday at 10 a.m., with triple-digit heat in the forecast for many areas. The watch expires at 8 p.m. on Friday.

The heat wave is expected to peak on Thursday, but no significant relief is expected until the following week.
Los Angeles and Orange counties on Sunday will see plenty of sunshine, with a high of 96 degrees and a low of 71. Temperatures are expected to peak just below triple digits on Thursday.
The valleys and Inland Empire can expect a high of 103 degrees and a low of 74 on Sunday. Triple-digit heat is in the forecast the entire week, with a peak of 107 degrees Wednesday through Friday.
Beach communities will be mostly sunny on Sunday with a high of 79 degrees and a low of 70. With the heat wave, the beaches will see highs in the mid-80s at the peak.
Mountain communities on Sunday will be hot and breezy, with a high of 86 and a low of 54.
Deserts on Sunday can expect a high of 104 degrees and a low of 69. Palm Springs is expected to reach 114 degrees.
