Woman fights off Los Feliz robbery suspect

LOS FELIZ, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are searching for a suspect who tried to rob a woman in Los Angeles' Los Feliz area early Wednesday morning.

Authorities say a man wearing a gray sweatsuit approached the victim in the area of Fern Dell Drive and Los Feliz Boulevard at 6:40 a.m. and tried to take something from the victim. After a physical altercation with the woman, the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.

The woman was transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.

"It was a very violent attack," said LAPD Detective Michelle Gomez.

A suspect description was not immediately available. The incident happened at one of the entrances to Griffith Park.

Police are looking into the possibility that the suspect is the same man who tried to sexually assault a woman jogging at Griffith Park last Thursday.
