Police find suspect in Lancaster homicide

Children were involved in gunfire
LANCASTER (KABC) The shooting happened just before midnight on the 45000 block of 70th Street West.

Police say 39-year-old John Vigil Senior got into a fight with 49-year-old William Barnes.

They say the two struggled inside Barnes' house and shots were fired.

Barnes was struck and killed in front of his wife and children.

Vigil was arrested within minutes of the shooting.

His child, who was also in the house, was hit by gunfire, and is listed in stable condition.
