LOS ANGELES --
The LAX Hilton has filed a lawsuit challenging the new living wage ordinance for hotel workers. The ordinance gives airport area hotel workers a minimum wage of $10 an hour with benefits, or $11.25 without benefits.
State law only requires a minimum wage of $8 an hour.
The new pay is due to begin on Saturday, but the Hilton wants an injunction, claiming the city is violating state rules.
City leaders say the ordinance is valid and that the city attorney will defend it.
