The victim, a man in his early 20s, was reportedly shot at approximately 4:15 p.m. near Fifth and Bonnie Brae streets. The victim died at a hospital.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle and detained a female suspect. A male suspect fled the vehicle and ran into a nearby apartment building.
LAPD officers from the Rampart Division were searching the area around Bonnie Brae and Witmer with guns drawn.
