'Brain pacemaker' not without risks

With brain stimulation, electrodes are surgically implanted in the brain. VA researchers found people who received this gained about four hours of good movement control.

Patients on medication had no improvements. But 40 percent of patients experienced a serious complication like infection, bleeding, or psychological issues.
