2 charged in Burbank woman's murder

BURBANK, Calif. Armen Mangasaryan, 29, and Arpiar Terrgalstanyan, 20, pleaded not guilty Friday afternoon in /*Burbank Superior Court*/.

The criminal complaint alleges that it was Mangasaryan who fired the shot that killed Jasmine Voskanian.

Terrgalstanyan is additionally charged with one felony count of possession of a silencer and two felony counts of possession of an assault weapon, including a semiautomatic rifle.

Police summoned to the victim's home in the 4200 block of West Jacaranda Avenue about 12:20 a.m. Wednesday found her lying in the doorway.

The 49-year-old woman had answered either a knock at the door or the doorbell before being shot once.

"The motive is believed to be a failure to repay a monetary debt," Burbank police Sgt. Robert Quesada said Thursday. "This was not a random shooting."

Mangasaryan was arrested Wednesday night and Terrgalstanyan was arrested early Thursday, authorities said.

Both men are due in /*Pasadena Superior Court*/ on Monday, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require them to stand trial.
