Pedestrian killed while waiting for bus

PLAYA DEL REY, Calif. A 64-year-old man was driving a sedan south on Lincoln Boulevard at 83rd Street when he lost control just before 6 a.m. The driver hit the curb, and then hit a 55-year-old pedestrian, who was waiting near the bus stop.

The pedestrian died at the scene. The 64-year-old driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, said d'Lisa Davis of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim has not been identified. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
