North Hollywood car accident kills 2

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. Police said the single-vehicle accident was reported on Vineland Avenue near Peach Grove Street at about 2:15 a.m., right outside a business, which may have sustained some damage as well.

The reportedly careened onto a sidewalk before slamming into a power pole. The driver and a passenger, both females, were killed at the scene.

A male passenger was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
