Body World: Jackson was never a client

June 26, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
A spokesperson for Body World says the late Michael Jackson was never a client of theirs. Body World is a donation program that allows a person's body to be preserved in plastic.Earlier it was reported by the London Daily Mail that representatives of the Jackson family had come to an agreement to plastinate Jackson's body.

"I can categorically state that Mr. Michael Jackson is not now, and has never been, a registered body donor in our program," said Body World's North American manager, Georgina Gomez in an email to ABC7.

Gomez did say that about six months ago someone claiming to be a member of Michael Jackson's management team inquired about the program.

It's believed that Jackson was also interested in having his body frozen, hoping he could later be returned to life. However, that option requires almost immediate freezing after death.

Jackson's body has since been turned over to his family.
