Auntie Em's Kitchen in Eagle Rock is a very popular cafe known for its fresh, organic and seasonal menu. Loyal fans come from all over for their extremely popular red velvet cupcakes.
Described as "to die for," the cupcakes at Auntie Em's come in a variety of flavors such as coconut, carrot cake, chocolate and the highly-coveted red velvet with dreamy cream cheese frosting.
"So like, comfort food, but made with the best ingredients, so it's that cupcake you had when you were a kid, but it's 10 times better because it's made with such good ingredients," said Auntie Em's Kitchen owner Terri Wahl.
"We have the best cream cheese frosting on earth," Wahl added.
Yummy Cupcakes in Burbank is a feast for the eyes as well as your mouth. The animated bakery has over 176 different flavors to choose from.
"Of course the name says it all, Yummy. This is the place to come for some of the most delicious cupcakes you're ever going to have," Yvette said.
Yummy Cupcakes is a gourmet bakery and a specialty gift shop, perfect for birthdays, holidays, weddings and happy hour.
"They have flavors like strawberry daquiri, pina colada, margarita, and these are made with actual liquor. I mean, it bakes off, but you can definitely taste a little bit of that," Yvette said.
Executive chef Tiffini Sorenko has earned a nickname because of her uncommon flavors.
"I get called the mad scientist a lot because I love coming up with unique and different ways to eat a cupcake and to fix a cupcake," Sorenko said.
"We have pancakes and bacon, salt and pepper, we have a chili chocolate and some other crazy ones that are coming up in the fall," she said.
Famous Cupcakes in Valley Village is known for their festive cupcake bouquets.
Owner Desiree Adl promises the sweet treats are as good as they look.
"We have probably about 20 different selections of bouquets from baby showers to birthdays, weddings. We can even customize it to the theme of the event, the colors. That was really our main inspiration for opening Famous Cupcakes," Adl said.
The red velvet with cream cheese frosting, the cookies and cream and the hot chocolate cupcake are just a few of the favorites that celebrities like Kim and Khloe Kardashian order regularly.
"Honestly it's the ingredients we use. It's all a science for me since I was a little girl, just in the kitchen, baking and different experiments, I really knew how to perfect a moist cake," Adl said.
