Firefighters responded to the fire in an abandoned structure in the 2600 block of Underpass Road at 11:06 p.m. Flames and flying embers threatening the adjacent Meadowlake Mobile Home Park forced authorities to upgrade it to a second-alarm fire.
One firefighter injured his elbow during the fire fight and was taken to a local hospital.
The fire was contained after about an hour. Thirty-six firefighters responded to the incident.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
