Santa Ana urges Brown to save enterprise zone

SANTA ANA, Calif.

Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido and other civic leaders told reporters Wedneday that Brown's proposed repeal of tax credits for enterprise zones would be costly to Orange County and the entire state.

Pulido says the program brings more businesses and jobs to blighted neighborhoods

"Here in Santa Ana alone we've had 33,000 jobs created since 1993 as a result of the enterprise zone program and 2,700 jobs in the last year alone, and the reality is, those jobs would not be in California, would not be here otherwise," Pulido said.

Pulido is urging state lawmakers to convince Brown to drop enterprise zones from his list of budget cutting targets.
