Operation USA is hoping to team up with volunteers and other relief agencies in Japan.
Founder Richard Walden says his agency is looking at the long-term impact of the earthquake.
"The real problem is the longer term recovery. With so much destruction, where do you build a school, a clinic? You can't just build it anywhere because there might not be people living there anymore," Walden said.
Operation USA says in the coming days, it will try to coordinate sending essential supplies to Japan to help in the relief efforts.
