Albert Bosco and Kirk Williams left Dana Point on a 26-foot sailboat Monday morning.
Family members heard from the pair Monday evening when the boat was reportedly about 9 miles from Catalina and then heard nothing for hours.
The two men are now safe. Authorities said their boat's rotor was stuck but it's not clear yet where the men were found.
The coast guard used boats, choppers, even a C-130 plane to search for the pair on Tuesday.
