Fire destroys Huntington Beach Women's Club

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.

No one was injured in the fire, which was reported shortly after 3 a.m.. The fire burned for more than an hour before it was knocked down.

Nearly 60 Huntington Beach and several neighboring fire departments worked together to extinguish the fire along the 400 block of 10th Street.

The fire reached two adjacent homes, damaging the roof of one and the exterior of another, said officials. Four people were displaced.

The philanthropic club with a more than 100-year history was used for meetings and events.
