All lanes were shut between Sunland Boulevard and Hollywood Way Thursday morning.
The fuel tanker collided with two vehicles around 10:35 p.m. Wednesday and started to leak fuel onto the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Southbound lanes reopened just before 4 a.m., and northbound lanes opened around 5:30 a.m.
None of the drivers were injured.
Officials said that gasoline did not seep into any drains.
