People tried to help the woman escape from a second floor window before firefighters arrived Sunday night, but their ladder was too short.
The woman ended up running out the front door and was severely burned.
Firefighters managed to bring five other people out through an upstairs window, including girls aged 3, 7 and 14.
Firefighters had to go into the building to rescue another person, a bedridden hospice patient.
In all, three people suffered smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
