Meredith Gould is self-employed and under insured so she asked her wedding guests to donate to a health insurance fund so she could go to the Mayo Clinic.
Gould found an online wedding registry company that helped her set it up.
"I do not need a crock pot. But what I do need is some health care," said Gould. "What I do need is basic blood testing. I do need a mammogram."
The Mayo Clinic says it has no plans to offer such a bridal registry, but does find the idea of being able to purchase services for a friend or loved one intriguing.
