Gov. Brown proposes Cal Grant GPA increase

SACRAMENTO, Calif.

The Los Angeles Times said that Gov. Brown is proposing to increase the minimum grade point average requirement for Cal Grant A recipients from 3.0 to 3.25.

Cal Grant A currently covers more than $5,000 dollars at California State Universities and up to about $12,000 at University of California schools.

The minimum GPA for Cal Grant B recipients would go from 2.0 to 2.75. Cal Grant B is for lower-income students typically attending community colleges.
