The fire began Sunday afternoon near Lakepointe and La Sierra drives. Strong winds quickly pushed it to 256 acres.
About 150 firefighters fought the blaze on the ground, while a helicopter and two air tankers attacked from above.
No homes were damaged and there were no reports of injuries. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
Officials said fire crews remained on scene to look for hot spots and patrol containment lines. Full control, including hot spots, is expected by about 6 p.m. Monday.
