Metro Green Line service temporarily disrupted due to power issue

November 2, 2012 12:00:00 AM PDT
Metro officials said a power problem temporarily disrupted service on the Green Line between the Avalon and Crenshaw/I-105 stations.

The problem started around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. It was fixed by 4:15 a.m. Friday, hours earlier than expected. Metro was running a bus shuttle between the stations.

The suspension affected the Vermont/Athens and Harbor Freeway stations because they are between the Crenshaw and Avalon stations.

Officials urged passengers using the bus service to allow additional travel time.

For those seeking alternate routes to downtown Los Angeles on Friday morning, Metro gave the following suggestions:

  • Aviation/LAX Station: Use LADOT Commuter Express 438 to 7th St/Metro Ctr.
  • Hawthorne/Lennox Station: Use Metro Rapid 740 to connect w/ Metro Expo Line at Expo/Crenshaw Station.
  • Crenshaw/I-105 Station: Use Metro Rapid 710 to connect w/ Metro Expo Line at Expo/Crenshaw Station.
  • Vermont/Athens Station: Use Metro Rapid 754 to connect w/ Metro Expo Line at Expo/Vermont Station.
  • Harbor Fwy Station: Use Metro Silver Line to 7th St/Metro Ctr.
  • Avalon Station: Use Lines 51, 52 or 352 to 7th St/Metro Ctr.
