Brother arrested in fatal double shooting in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES

On Tuesday, Nov. 6, police responded to a call around 4 p.m. about a double shooting at a home in the 3300 block of East Hunter and Concord streets.

Gustavo Lopez, 29, and Rafael Aguilar were found shot to death. Lopez was later identified as the shooter's brother.

The suspect identified as 25-year-old Israel Lopez was found sitting on the couch.

Two women were home at the time. One of the women heard the shots and reported the shooting to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The investigation continues. No information on the motive for the shooting has been released.

Lopez, however, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder with the special circumstance of multiple murder which makes him eligible for the death penalty. He is being held without bail.
