A search team was launched Saturday afternoon to find 7-year-old Simon Kruger after he wandered away from a family picnic.
The young boy met the kangaroo while picking flowers for his mother. The boy spent a freezing night in the Australian bush. The kangaroo stayed with the boy all night.
"A kangaroo came closer to him and ate the flowers from him, and the kangaroo fell asleep next to him. I think God sent a kangaroo to keep him warm," said Etienne Kruger, the boy's father.
The boy was found about 24 hours later, and returned back to his parents.
"I think it was a miracle," said Linda Kruger, the boy's mom. "When I smell his jacket, it's kangaroo, bush and kangaroo."
