5.6-magnitude earthquake strikes Northern California, USGS says

PINOLE, Calif. -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 struck north of Ukiah in Mendocino County at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake, centered in Willits, California, measured at a depth of 8.1 kilometers.

A 2.5 magnitude aftershock hit several minutes later.
